Alaska Expedition – Day 1
After a lot of planning and preparation, today was finally the first day of the Alaska Expedition.
After saying goodbye to family, friends and girlfriends, we left Itu for Aquidauana, MS, at 6:30 a.m. with 16ºC on the dashboard and 1060 km to go.
The day was excellent, sunny and blue skies all the time, an average of 28ºC, good roads and little traffic.
As soon as we cross the Paraná River, it becomes clear that we are leaving the state of São Paulo. The road changes, with a single lane, a few potholes and lots of animals, birds, cows and more.
A few kilometers into Mato Grosso do Sul and we started to see Tucanos, Macaws, lots of cattle and animals on the side of the road.

We made only 4 stops in a total of 1,061 km, with an average of 110 km/hr and average consumption of 15 km/liter.
We arrived in Aquidauana at 6pm with a wonderful sunset.
Tomorrow we're heading towards Corumbá, on the border with Bolivia, for a walk through the Pantanal.
Thank you all for your support and messages of encouragement!
Special thanks to Bruno Clemente, our producer and a great enthusiast of the Expedition.
