The Santiago & Mendoza Tour focuses on balancing riding technique and comfort. Crossing the Andes Mountains requires planning, and this itinerary covers two of the continent's most iconic passes: Paso Los Libertadores, climbing the Chilean hairpin bends, and Paso Agua Negra. With altitudes exceeding 4,000 meters, the route requires attention to variations in oxygen and temperature, which are fundamental characteristics of this region.
Technical Report between Chile and Argentina
The focal point of this itinerary is Paso Agua Negra, which has approximately 80 km of dirt and gravel roads, offering scenery of unique beauty. Departing from Santiago, we head north to access this less commercial border, avoiding heavy truck traffic. The Santiago & Mendoza Tour prioritizes this more peaceful road experience.
Descending to the Argentine side, we arrive in Mendoza, the country's main wine-producing region. The stop here is for recovery and includes a selected wine tourism program, with visits to wineries and paired lunches. The goal is to offer a rest structure that maintains the level of the trip, ensuring sophistication off the bike and adrenaline while riding.
